Indications:
Pharmacology:
Indever 10 is a medication that blocks B-adrenergic receptors and is commonly used to treat hypertension and angina pectoris. Propranolol antagonizes catecholamines at B-adrenergic receptors, preventing the heart from contracting too quickly or too forcefully and reducing the heart's oxygen consumption.
Propranolol is virtually entirely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, but some of it is processed by the liver as soon as it passes into the portal circulation. After oral treatment, the plasma concentration reaches its peak in 1 to 1.5 hours. Propranolol has a plasma half-life of 3 to 6 hours. Propranolol metabolites are eliminated through the urine.
