Indications:
The shampoo is used to treat seborrheic dermatitis, dandruff, inflammation, and swelling of the scalp.
Dosage & Administration:
Dampen your hair and apply approximately 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of ciclopirox shampoo to the scalp. You can use up to 2 teaspoons (10 ml) for long hair. Lather up and stay on hair and scalp for 3 minutes. You can use a timer. Avoid eye contact. The treatment should be repeated twice a week for 4 weeks, with at least 3 days between applications.
Contraindications:
This shampoo should not be used by people who show hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Pregnancy category B. It is not known whether this drug is excreted in human milk. Because many drugs are excreted in human milk, caution should be exercised when Ciclopirox Olamine Shampoo or is administered to nursing women.
Precautions & Warnings:
Ciclopirox Olamine Shampoo is not for ophthalmic, oral, or intravaginal use.
Use in Special Populations:
No clinical trials have been conducted in subjects younger than 16 years.
Side Effects:
Cyclopirox olamine shampoo is well tolerated, and the incidence of adverse reactions reported in clinical trials is low.
